System problems

As of right now my music only plays out of one speaker and I cant turn the volume up all the way otherwise it gets super staticy. What could be the problem? Do I need new speakers/headunit/both? Also there are some wires that are disconnected behind the headunit and Im no electronics master so I have no idea what Im looking at nor do I know anybody that is either. I can try and get some pictures sometime in the next week of disconnected wires if you guy need them.

Re: System problems

any chance you can get photos of the disconnected wires? that could very well be your issue (since there should not be any other wires in that area)

Re: System problems

Are they your highs/subs not working?

If highs prolly is the wires behind the head unit

If subs you might have blown one and its pushing static instead of music out.
Rca Jacks might be bad
Might have a bad ground

Get us a pic of your set up and also give us more info on it

Re: System problems

I'm thinking it the wires, or it could be along the wire the shielding has came off cause someone stepped on the plastic part that holds the carpet next to the door jam (can't think if it name) and nicked it so it could be grounding out (then again it would be hard for someone to nick the front speaker wires). The head unit maybe messed up though too. Check the wires for connectivity and also to test your head unit you can get a voltmeter to see if you are even getting voltage out of the speakers wires, no voltage out of the head unit and I would say its bad.

Re: System problems

Went to a friends house today and got the whole thing completely fixed! We spent five hours doing it but we got it done. Im sorry I totally forgot to get pictures of the project as we worked on it. What we did is we pulled the dash pad out and ran completely new wire from almost all of the speakers to the head unit which took a long time because it was only me and him working for a while untill his dad got there (we are 16). He pretty much did all the wiring and made it so all the wires go into the headunit. As for the crackling seaker my friend (Dan) just so happened to have one 6x9 laying in his garage so we installed that. So now it is all said and done I am finally capable of blasting my music. Also I have a total of three different brands of seakers in my car now one pioneer, one eclipse, and the two fronts are Bostons (are those stock?) Also another question is when pulling out some of the trim we knocked out that thing in the corner near the door on the passenger side. When we pulled it out we saw some wires were connected to it and on the back it said Bose. So was this part of a holy S**t package as an extra speaker or is it an amp or something. It is wired in in the car but Im just wondering what it is?
