I'm no good at dimensions.

I tried searching and browsing.

I took the rear seats out of my '92 'bird and decided that's where I want my box. I'm 6'6" and my fiancée is 6'2". [no one can sit in the back anyway].

My speakers require 1.25 cubes sealed or 2 cubes ported per speaker.

12" High Performance Dual 4 Ohm
Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils
60 oz. Single Magnet
Mounting Depth: 6.2"
Mounting Diameter: 10.9"
Optimum Vented Box: 2 cu/ft
Round Port Diameter: (2) 4"
Square Port Area: 25 sq/in
Port Length: 15.5"
Optimum Sealed Box: 0.75 - 1.25 cu/ft
2-year Manufacturer's Warranty

Subwoofer Size 12"
Impedance 4 ohms
Dual Voice Coil Yes
Peak Power Handling 600 watts
RMS Power Handling 300 watts
Surround Material High Profile Triple Treated Foam Surround
Sealed Box Volume 1.0 - 1.5 cubic ft.
Ported Box Volume 3.0 cubic ft.
Sensitivity 88.36
Frequency Response N/A
Top Mount Depth 5.25"
Cutout Diameter 10.9"
Anyway, I would like some help on how to build the box to fix nicely back there without the seats. I've seen a few rear seat installs, and the super nice fiberglass backseat box. I just need to basically make a cut template for my buddy that works at the saw mill. Then I can tweak and build it. Fiberglass scares me. I'll be using 3/4" MDF.

Thanks for any help, it's super appreciated.

Re: I'm no good at dimensions.

well for building a box to fit your needs you would first measure the area you're working with and decide how you want the subs to be facing i would think it would be more visually pleasant to have them leaning at an angle facing...well just about where your head would be lol. but simple conversions would be If you are measuring in inches the formula is: multiply the length in inches x width in inches x height in inches then divide by 1728 to get cubic feet.

your answer will come out to your sq ft. so for example my box is 16" long x 13" tall x 9" deep which comes out to 1.088 just over a sq ft. and my one 10" sub sound amazing really better than i thought it would.

one thing i noticed is you have your peak power listed what you really want to par attention to is your RMS watts which is what the sub and amp are continuously running at it is very rare that you'll reach peak watts and when you do its at those short burst of a songs bass frequency. so as long as your amp is pushing an adequate RMS for your sub your system will be good.

Honestly, the best place in a third gen for subs is in the "hole" in the hatch area. With the shape an slope of the rear window glass, it creates a loaded horn effect, that reinforces the bass much more than having the subs behind the front seats.

I've been told. I'm just trying to fill in a little where the stocks have no response.

I use the "hatch hole" for Nitro R/C field equipment. I may just drop that box back there and make a shelf for the back seat hole and carry my stuff that way. thanks guys.
