Need speakeradvice!
Hi guys!
Just bought a kenwood KIV-700 Media Reciever yesterday - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
But I need to replace the current speakers I have in the Trans Am. They are OK as-is, but want something a bit more modern.
I am not in any way a sub-junkie, and I mostly listen to rock and 80's classics. Example of a couple of songs being played in the car are:
Queen - One Vision
David Bowie - Rebel Rebel
Ac DC - Money talks
The reason I'm posting tunes here is so that you understand what kind of music I listen to and help me make a good choice in new speakers. As you know the music sounds different in all kinds of speakers.
What set would you guys reccomend? Looking for plug and play
Andy

If thats mainly what you listen to i would go with a good set of 3 way speakers. Pioneer makes a great 3 way speaker. It will give you that little bass but clear vocal. And that headunit will let you dial it in perfect.

I personally like JBL GTO or Power series speakers. Great for the music you listen to.
Personally I would go with a two way speaker as opposed to a three way. A three way tweeter is a little small and you won't notice the sound. If you look at component speakers or components in which the tweeter can be attached to the woofer, they are all two way.

Re: Need speakeradvice!
you looking for 6x9? I would have to disagree with you on the 3 way speakers unless your talking about actually component set. I decent brand 2 way 6x9 are the best bet specially being so close to your ears and especially with guitar and cymbals.

Re: Need speakeradvice!
I would do the power 4x6 and the gto 6x9 or these 6x9. I have heard alot of higher end speakers and i cant stress these 6x9 enough for what they are. this is my own oppinion but still. Read some reviews abou these on the web not just this website.

And if I don't get convinced otherwise, I'm also placing and order for the power 4X6. Being the total Newb I am with stereos: Is there anything else I need as of now? Like wires, amps or other stuff? As I wrote earlier I am not a big subwoofer fan, and want my music clean and loud.
Will the original wiring be good enough to support this system I am now getting for my T/A?

Re: Need speakeradvice!
well If i was you being new, I would install speakers first as is see if its loud and enough clear enough at your listing volume , if not then I would def put an amp on the 6x9 and run the others off the deck. I have them in both cars and both cars have amps. But my buddys car doesnt have an amp and they get loud and still sound great. Dont get in over your head quite yet try just the speakers those 6x9's might surprise you If not put a amp on them.
