I found another radio in my shed that is from an 89 olds can i swap the cassette mechanism into the blaupunkt for it to work? The 2nd pic is the blaupunkt mecahnism which i took a pic of when i was changing the belts.

You can swap any radio if you have wiring diagrams, if not you're flying blind and I don't suggest it unless its either the same model radio, or you have a wiring diagram for each unit.

Probably the only way to go about doing that would be to get them both out and compare with each other.

Yeah, what seven said. I know I could easily swap the olds for the blaupunkt. I have the stock brackets i'll just throw those on. They are basically the same size. But, i rather have my stock radio to work with the gain switch and amp. I'm already having my subs re-conned and the 4x6s work well. I have a ton of cassettes that i want to use

I have a couple shoe boxes full of old cassettes. If modern technology hadn't taken over I would still have a deck in my ride.I think it would be cool to keep the stock deck and get a cd changer hidden somewhere.I have an fm transmitter for my mp3 player but thats with an aftermarket cd player in the car.If I had a tape deck I would play nothing but old Black Sabbath tapes in it,blairing the whole time.

I use my fm transmitter now with my deck it cuts in and out and the sound is horrible. I want to blast pat bennatar and whitesnake i have the cassettes just need the damn player to work. On an off note do you guys know how to jerry rig the deck in my house so that i don't have to disconnect battery, take old out, connect new, and then re do battery.
