No sound from front right speaker w/stock head
Hi everyone,
I have the stock Delco AM/FM cassette in my '92 and have no sound except an intermittent scratch noise coming out of the right front (passenger) speaker. I assumed the speaker was bad, so I removed the dash pad and the speaker. Then I decided I had better check to make sure it was a speaker problem, so I removed the drivers side speaker that did work and plugged it in to the passenger side plug and no sound. So I eliminated the fact that the speaker did not work, but now I don't know what my problem is. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jason

I have the same problem. I think one of the channels is dirty or one of the transistors inside the module could be fried. It could also be the speaker wire might be pinched somewhere. start from the speaker down and check if you can then, if it still sounds like crap then the internal module has a small transistor burned. trouble shoot, troubleshoot, troubleshoot.

Just throwing some ideas out there but when ever i turn on some music in my car if the music is low i wont get any sound out of my right front speaker but when i turn it up it somehow starts working? Im guessing its just all connection problems but not entirely sure.

clean all your connections - radio to vehicle harness, vehicle harness to speaker. corrosion can do a number on electrical parts. if that doesn't solve it, try hooking up a spare speaker and see if that solves the problem. if so the speaker(s) need to be replaced, if not you'll probably need to replace your deck

Hi Dan,
That will be my next step - to clean the connections. I did try a speaker that was known to work at that connection and it did not work either. So now I will start working my way back to the head unit. I hope it is not the unit itself, but if it is that wont be an expensive replacement.
Thanks!
