Re: i-pod jack

I have the same radio in my 89 Camaro, but a 2002 model. I opted for this piece from Precision Interface Electronics (PIE) so I could run audio from my SIRIUS receiver through my head unit by using a mini-jack-to-RCA cable.

http://www.pie.net/index.php?page=sh...mart&Itemid=40

It says not compatible with 1999 AM/FM/CD head units. You might take a look at the sticker on the head unit's housing and check manufacture date, If you have a 2000 head unit, you might be able to use this.

If you search, there are other threads on how to tap into the audio inputs on the radio's circuit board and install a mini-jack for auxiliary audio input.

Re: i-pod jack

Spotspot. I have this CD player mfg date '01. Would you know if this would be the same as far as first/third wires in the CD connections as what your link shows? Is a double DIN, so still have to size this up as far as fit, but there is an area in the front panel that the aux jack can go. Still using original unit in my Camaro.

Thanks
