Re: best camaro radio?
'85-'89 with the EQ and blaupunkt tape transport would
be the best stock factory radio and authentic
Don't
know what option code this is,but same stereo was used
in s-10,astro vans,ETC.up to around 1995.
All of these are old at this point and solder joint/belt/
pinch roller/bulb repairs could be needed...Easy repairs
if you are used to working on delco radios.
Starting about 1989,some of these use the newer style
plugs, but i think s-10/astro kept the early style plugs
well into the '90s.

yeah, i have an 85 berlinetta pod right now. i do love it but i heard you cant connect aftermarket sound to it. so i was gna try to hook up the pod in my room for a nightstand clock. i seen a nice 89 radio on ebay so i might look into that. but im just not sure if it worth spending on one of the touchscreen aftermarket radios instead of an original look. but no matter what radio i put in ima have to modify it.

Easy to amp up/improve any factory delco stereo, you
just need some speaker output to RCA jack adaptors;
these use a transformer to convert the speaker output
of each channel to low voltage signal for amp input,
from there hook up all the extra amps you want
In my car i have '84 delco cassette built from '84 cadi
seville delco bose with '84 vette faceplate-has the
blaupunkt transport but with the earlier yellow LED
display."bose"radios have low voltage output,so can
directly feed RCA input amps-got mine hooked into
"old skool"'80s system of around 400w-didn't like
the dashtop 4x6 speaker arrangement,so changed the
front speaker setup to 6"woofer in lower door/1"dome
tweeter in upper door-much better sound this way.
