I have a 87 trans am and recently the rado started to cut out an then the lights when i opened the door dont turn on anymore. I attempted to fully reconnect the radio but that didn't fix the radio.

Any solutions?

 

ACC fuse? if that ones ok check the one next to the battery

 

Sounds like a blown fuse, my friend. Is your horn working?
It's such a simple fix a lot of people overlook it.

 

Probably a fuse and I've actually seen issues in a couple third-gens with that fuse. I almost always run the 12V+ constant to the radio off a different source and get it off that circuit. My personal car has it ran directly to the battery but that probably isn't neccesary.

 

Mine did the same thing today. I had a blown 20 amp fused and replaced it. good to go

 

my fuse blows up every time someone presses the door locks.. =[ i carry a packet of 20 fusses
