Hi. i have a 4 channel amp. my front and rear speakers are all connected direct to that amp.my head unit does have rear and front rca outputs..and im using those for the 4 channel amp. I want to install a sub amp now..and i have a line out converter(for the rca inputs on my sub amp)..would i just wire up the LOC by tapping into my rear speaker wires that are connected to my 4 channel amp? or do i just wire it up at the rear speakers on the harness?(the speaker wires at the harness are all cut,,due to running them to my 4 channel amp)..Or does it even matter? even though the speaker wires at harness are cut and capped off..they should still be getting power from my HU correct? thanks

 

I would wire them to the wires on the head unit. your amp wires might have to much output for the LOC.

 

there are a bunch of different variables for this situation. if your head unit doesn't have a sub out I would suggest using the wires directly from your HU for the LOC. has a better correlation to the "volume." if its hooked to the amp it will try and over power your amp and push it too hard. you also might not get the frequencies you want if you are using a high pass filter on your mids and highs. like I said. there are a lot of variables.
