shallow headunit?
ladies and gents,
I have a universal headunit install kit, and i hate the way it sticks out past the dash in my car. does anyone know of any headunits that are shallow enough to sit the faceplate flush against the dash?
The colors need to be adjustable so that I can match it to my interior lighting. The headunit needs to have a front input for a USB thumbdrive and it needs to be able to play MP3s. I wouldn't mind bluetooth compatibility either.
Thanks!
Bill

Re: shallow headunit?
if youre taking about the headunit itself that is sticking out, there is a plastic braket in the back of where the radio goes that helps support your original radio.(its where the peg on the back went) cut that bracket out with a dremel, or other tool, and youll slide all the way in. hope this helps

I just did this to mine I didn't have to cut all I did was remove it by taking out all the screws pulling out the whole radio holding cell and unscrewing the brace bar going across the back.
FYI there is a small bolt/nut in the center near the area where the oem radio holding hole is that mounts the whole cell to the car body. Make sure to take that nut off (it's on the floor next to the area mentioned) and it'll slide right out once you take out the other 2 screws and unscrew the climate controls.
