ROCKFORD POWER 4x6's DONT FIT HELP ME

Hey I have the Rockford Fosgate t1462 speakers and they wont fit in the dash. The tweeter sticks out and the bottom wont fit without touching what looks like a heater box (?). This is on the passenger side. What can I do to make them fit? I havent even tried the driver side.

Re: ROCKFORD POWER 4x6's DONT FIT HELP ME

There's a tech article on thirdgen.org that takes you step by step through the installation of a set or 4x6s that "don't fit". It's a simple procedure to heat up the plastic heat duct to gain the clearance you need. For the tweeter, you can take a dremmel to the underside of the speaker grills to get the clearance you need.

Like the other comments, you can fab it to work or get other speakers. I have Clarions in my dash, but they are not that great. just picked up 96Z28 & it has Rockfords in the front door panels. I am very happy w/the sound of that brand as I never used them before. Many posts have noted the Polks sound very good. Best wishes
