What else can I use for a remote wire.

For some reason my remote wire is dead. Perhaps it got crossed with the amp power wire and got few 12 volts of power. Could this have fried something in the head unit with out affecting anything else. The head unit works on all 4 channels etc.
Anyway what can I use as a remote wire now? I really miss the bass.

Sometimes you can use the power antenna wire. This wire and the amp wire is use just to supply a 12v turn on signal. They cant be used to power anything. Most are rated under 1 amp.

Just find a lead in the fuse box and test it too see if it turns on and off with the ignition, this should work, someone say if this is wrong.

i'm guessing you mean you fried the one from your stereo? if so you could either connect it to the ign. wire running to your stereo or run it to the radio fuse.

Running it off the ignition will work, however note that the amps will be on whenever the ignition is on. If you turn off you radio for whatever reason, the amps will remain on until you shut the car off. Also, if running off ignition, you amps wont turn on when your switched to accessory.

yeah if ou connect something to your deck's remote wire that draws too much juice youll kill the turn on circuit in the deck.. for a remote to your amp you can use any 12v+ source.. i dont even use my remote turn on lead.. instead i run a wire from a switched 12v source in the fuse panel, to a switch, then to the amp.. the switch gives you control of turning your subs on and off at will.. nice for if you see a cop in town late at night, you can kill the noise and keep listening to the music.. heheh

find a constant 12v at the ignition harness, run a small guage wire from it to a relay, have a little switch using a ground or a 12v to flip on the relay, and ur good to go, also cood save ur *** if u get pulled over, and dont need a disturbing the peace ticket at 3AM. click, no officer, i dont have 1 of those loud offensive cars!
