SUBS????
SUBS????
I HAVE 2 PHEONIX GOLD 12" COMP. SUBS IN MY FIREBIRD, BUT THET ARE IN A SMALL BOX IN MY HATCH AREA.THEY SOUND VERY GOOD RIGHT NOW WITH THAT SETUP. WOLD IT BE BETTER TO INSTALL A SUB PLATE TO CLEAN THINS UP A BIT
OR WOULD THAT SCREW WITH MY SOUND??
OR WOULD THAT SCREW WITH MY SOUND??

You mean use a plate instead of a box? Plate's suck.
If you mean a plate over the box, then it depends. You could put the box in the well with the subs facing up, and use a plate with the holes cut out as a flush-mount with grills or something else over the holes to allow the bass to pass and that would be ok. But, if you just mean throw a slab o' wood over the box, that will block the sound.

Plates suck. Going from a box to a plate is like trading a 2000 Camaro SS in for a Cavalier.
