Are my speakers blown?
A while back my old head unit would malfunction and when i went to turn the volume down it would turn it up and i could not stop it from going up, it would go to the point where it was very loud and sounded very distorted.
I picked up a new head unit and plugged in connected all the wires, I tested it with a song off my iphone so it was a good quality signal but the sound was very distorted even at a low volume, i noticed it would get very distorted when there was bass. I went and checked there is sound coming from each speaker and all 4 sound crappy and distorted?
I am just wondering if there is a way i can test if the speakers are blown or if anyone else has any ideas as too why it is doing this before i go and buy all new speakers for my car. Thanks!

If the sound is a buzzing or almost a farting sound, they're blown......sorry.

Lol, it's an analogy I've heard for years. I figured it'd make somebody laugh!
Honestly, if you wanna check your speakers you need an ohm meter. Hook it up tot the terminals and slowly push down on the cone while watching the meter. You will get to a point where the meter goes to zero, meaning a break in the voice coil windings.
