Ok my friend gave me a amp for free a jensen xa 6040lx 600watt and for some reason it will go on for one second then power down. I had an amp set up in my car and put this one in and no good i switched to real thick 4 gage wire and no good i tried connecting to two 10's no good tried connecting to two 6x9's and still no good so i just go pissed and put my old amp back in only a 200watt. Anyways anyone have a clue i dont know much about amps. Also i checked the ground and that was ok.

I'm not a Jensen fan but I do have a friend who is ....anyway He had this problem.I monkey'd with it for several hours until I found a diffrent ground for it.

This does sound like a possible ground problem, however don't quote me on this. I have had a jenson amp before and it ended up in the trash because i could not keep it working long enough to get my *** out of my trunk. hope this helps in some way at least.
