Ah, man have I got the places for you to visit. These places will blow your mind away for the prices that they sell car stereo equipment for. Take for instance I bought this Clarion deck model #DRXQ 6475 or something like that (it's been about 2 yrs now) but I bought it at a local stereo shop for about $350 out the door and the same model but the newer version on line is around $220, cheap huh? In a couple of months I will be buying the newer model. Well enough yacking or typing, here they are: http://www.carstereoworld.com http://www.woofersetc.com http://www.soundhabit.com http://www.outerlimitsaudio.com http://www.millenium-edition.com http://www.digitalwavez.com http://www.soundcity.com http://www.onlinecarstereo.com http://www.dealtime.com http://www.800.com

Was that enoguh for you, haha; hope I helped

Just remember that when you have a problem, it's going to get stuck right up your *** . The $20 difference between online and your local retailer is definately worth it. Good cd players can be had for under $200 anywhere now, so why **** around to save another $20? You'll regret it if you ever have a problem. Plus, your local retailer is able to tell you what all of those features mean and which ones are important. If you have a problem installing it, they will help. That's why they cost a little more. Oh, and they will be more likely to still be in business at the end of the warrany period.

You made a very good point there but when I saw that the newer version of my CD player was $220 opposed to what I paid for mine I almost crapped my pants plus I called my old shop up and asked them how much for the newer version and is still the same price of what I paid for my current one. Don't know but any Clarion dealer would be able to help you if you bought a Clarion period or Kenwood and so on wouldn't they? Or would they be dicks about it?

It depends on the shop, but my guess is that most won't help you if you didn't buy it from them. I don't help many people when they come in with crap they bought online unless they look like they regretted buying it online. Nothing is more irritating than spending an hour of my time with a guy, telling him all about the features and giving him good, honest help, only for him to leave and come in a week later with the same thing that he saved $10 on, and then asking for help because he's too stupid to install it.

ha, too stupid to install it-jim u are a crackup. i didnt know you worked for a shop, do u install there? what kinda brands do you guys sell?

to answer the question, online stores really suk, for reasons stated above and becuase you have to pay shipping and handling charges too. unless you buy from Crutchfield, or something respectable like crutchfield, i wouldnt advise buying online. the stereo shops usually have knowledgeable people there that look out for your best interest. now there are some bad apples in this bunch, but ive found that if u give a little you will get a lot.

if you are so desperate for a low price, buy from ebay or your local swap meet, then in 2 weeks when it breaks down, go buy it from a dealer. and learn a lesson.
