best amp for my subs
best amp for my subs
i was just wonder if anyone knew what kind of amp i should us with my subs. they are the pioneer dvs's 15's. i have 2 of them. i have a california12000 witch is 1200 watts but i think it may be to much power for them. thanks
This has always been my logic, if you know the volume level not to exceed on your deck then you shouldn't worry about blowing the subs. For instance, my current system has 2 free air 10" subs and they sound killer but I know that my amp can kill those subs in a second if I take the volume beyond 17; that's pretty bad huh? It starts at 0 at goes all the way up to 33. I would hate to hear what it would sound like at 25; YIKES!!!
It sounds like you've got plenty of power for the subs and you should be fine and not worry about it and save your money for something else.

That california amp isn't "too much" by any stretch of the imagination. I wouldn't use that amp to power headphones. A Rockford 360 or 500 would be a great amp, as would a Kicker ZR 340, 360 or 600.

i got the amp and the subs for free so i can complain about the amp. if is was my choice i would have chose a fosgate amp or a sony amp. but i have no choice since i have no money.
the real deal when powering speakers is, less power is bad , more is good. Low power is what causes speakers to blow. If a speaker says it is 150rms and 500 max, then that is what to give it. The speaker company tells you this information to u for a reason.
With what I told you about this speaker , the best power would be an amp that was at least 150rms.any other questions let me know
