lights dimming when bass hits........

I have a brand new battery(higher than stock) and alternator. I have 2 Solo-Baric 12's and a Memphis class-d 500x2 sub amp. When I have it cranked and the bass hits, my lights dim. Its worse when i'm sitting still(i know that's because of the alternator not putting out) But is there any way to fix this besides getting a cap ???

To be honest w/ you I think that would be your best bet is to get a CAP and they aren't that expensive. Your other choice is to get a higher amp alternator, at least a 110 amp alternator. Let us know what you decide.

If you alt is not putting out at idle, a cap is useless. You'll have to get a higher output alternator.

Even having a higher output alternator won't make a difference at idle. The regualtor doesn't put out charging volts till you're at at least 1000 rpms. The cap will help put less drain on the battery, but I'm beyond poor right now so, apparently i'll just deal with it. I was looking for something I might have missed or a quick fix though
