Re: What Harness to get??

Hey Boots!

So Im just doing my stereo this month as well, I went on ebay and typed in "1986 camaro stereo wire harness" and so i got mine doing that. You are going to need a dash kit as well if you don't already have it, (the plastic trim around the stereo to make it fit in your dash) so i just got a bundle where they had the dash kit AND the wire harness together.

Here the ebay link to the one i bought, it says out of stock now, but you can take a peak !

Boots16 - the one you posted looks like the right one. You can probably find it a lot cheaper on Ebay

If you're still searching for an answer to this post, may I suggest metraonline.com You can search by your make and model and it will give you the correct model number for your application. The harness you're looking for will start with a "70-". I've found metra harnesses are higher quality than the schose brand you'll find at Walmart or eBay. Most of the harnesses are color coded the same as the back of the aftermarket deck so you simply match the colors and then plug it in.

Thank You
That's why I shop at crutchfield.com. They'll send the correct connector you need for your car right along with your radio.
