Aftermarket CD player problems.

Well, I have the Sony XPLOD CDX5000. It is less than a year old; about 8 months. Now it skips like crazy. Every little bimp in the road makes it skips. What should I do? My brother had a Sony after market CD player in his truck for a couple years and it worked fine. I thought Sony had good stuff. Now I am dissappointed. What should I do? I dont know if that CD player cleaner stuff works. Please help!

Throw it away!!!!!!!! Every mobile car product that I have ever bought that had a Sony name on it sucked **** . Even all my friends can agree w/ me. I had a Sony CD player that got replaced 3 times within 3 months b/c the digital display went out all 3 decks. Their $hit sucks!!!!! Especially there CD players. THe only thing that I would ever buy from Sony would be their in home products but not their mobile products, never again.

After my Sony ES experiance, i would not recommend Sony to anyone, home or car audio. If it less then a year old, its still under warranty. Get a replacement.

Something I can recommend, what year is your car? A lot of the times the dash kits that the radio's mount into break the tabs that ancor the radio down. When the tabs break on the dash kit the radio has excessive vibration and will skip more easily. Since the radio is only 8 months old, I would take it out and have it sent off from the place you bought it to have it fixed under warranty. If the tabs are broken on the dash kit, just go get another one and that should fix it. Will run you about 9-10 bucks at wal-mart.

Yeah, like Bock said...try experimenting with the mounting. If it's really floppy in the dash, tighten it up and put a backstrap on it. If it's really really tight, you could maybe even loosen it up a little bit.

Regardless of what you do, get it repaired/replaced under warranty before it runs out.
