40-amp blade type fuse...>>

My Sony XM-405EQX has one. I cannot seem to find a replacement in any parts store. It is not the large style blade fuse, nor the round glass design. It is a standard blade type and is orange in color. Any ideas where to find one?

Very interresting. I can honestly say that I've never seen a 40 amp standard-size blade type fuse. The highest I've ever seen is 30. Willie, out of curiosity, what gauge wire is used with the fuse holder? I've never seen a blade type fuse holder use anything larger than 12 gauge. Thanks.

Jim,

The fuse is mounted in the side of the amp, not in a fuse holder.

Chris,

You've got mail. Thanks for the offer.

Jim, I've seen them around here and there. I think the larger Jensen amps come with them.

Willie, we have a bunch of them at Best Buy where I work. I can send you some if you want too. But I'll bet you could get away with using a 30-amp for a while.

Wow! I never knew there was one made! Personally, based on the size of the terminals, I don't think I would ever want one! That size of terminal is usually one good for 30 AMP, and I personally wouldn't use it for more than 25 AMP. I don't even like the fact that my Kicker amps use them, even the DX700 with 3 of them.

Now that I'm done spouting off, I'm glad to see you've found help! The people around here are great most of the time (although some of us are VERY opinionated!)
