the browns are the lights in the interior when the headlights are on, like radio and cluster backlight. they probably cut it there to put in an aftermarket radio that didnt need it. make sure it covered if you dont need it

Do you where it goes everytime I turn the headlights on my instrument cluster goes all crazy?
it goes behind the dash up to the cluster and switch and all the other things that come on with the running lights. sounds like somewhere its crossed, insulation melted to something or ground for the cluster needs cleaned. would take the cluster out, inspect the wires and pins on the plug and reseat it a couple times.
i remember well because mine was a terrible mess, back in the 90s when i drove mine everyday i had the lights on and a bunch of smoke came out from the dash and the fuse blew. pretty much the whole length of the dash that brown smoked the insulation and i had to run new from the switch to the dozen places it goes on a bird
