I dont have pics but the Bose speakers in the kicks are 4" and they suck. Maximum mounting depth is 1 3/4". I took mine out and cut a 4 1/2" hole thru the front of the kick panels and dropped in some Pioneer 5 1/4" TS-G1345 speakers and it looks nice and they sound way better than the Bose. The reason I went with the TS-G1345 is they were the only 5 1/4" with the 1 3/4" mounting depth. If you try to put speakers in there with a deeper mounting depth your going to have trouble getting them to fit especially the drivers side because it is curved. You can probably try to find some 4" speakers to go inside so you dont have to cut your panels but you might have trouble mounting them in there cuz the Bose are mounted inside with 3 screws in a triangle shape.
My firebird didnt have bose but my current Maxima has a bose system that sounds like the same 4" triangle speaker setup. If they're the same speaker, they are a 1 ohm speaker and u cant run them off the headunit because of the load, and i dont think the factory bose amps will run a regular 4 ohm speaker...im guessing its the same with a firebird's bose system.

Yes, the Bose 4" speakers have a three-hole mounting design. You can mount an aftermarket speaker in the hole fairly easily...just get some new pointy screws...zing them into the plastic mounting using a screw gun. Then you'll need some rope caulk or silicon to seal off the remaining gaps.
I'm not sure of the impedance of Bose speakers. I saw a Maxima where an aftermarket deck was installed, the factory amps were bypass, but all four Bose speakers were re-used. It didn't sound excellent but it did work.
foo...yes, your Maxima has 4" speakers in a special ported enclosure inside the front doors, and 6x9s in the back. I've worked on a lot of them at my job...to replace the deck and all four speakers is easy, and you can bypass the amps without running new wire through the car. A friend of mine tells me that you can get 6 1/2s in the doors by removing the Bose enclosure, laying a sheet of Dynamat over the hole there, and mounting your new speakers using S-10 Blazer speaker brackets.
