Installing power antenna in 92 Bird

How do I go about upgrading my non-power antenna? Is it as easy as putting in a new mast and running the cables to my "power antenna" wire behind my deck?

Also, is there a way to wire it so that the antenna only comes up when the receiver is on, and not the CD player?

Thanks in advance.

Depends on the deck. Some will only extend it when its in radio mode. You could wire in a switch, but that would make operating the deck a PITA. As far as the conversion, it should just bolt it.

GM part #88891017. I believe it's about $110.00. On Ebay I found a replacement that is supposed to work. Part #8035155455. $29.99+$12.00 shipping. If you figure out how to take the old one out and install the new one, please let me know. Need to change mine out as well.
