I have the Thunder 3000s (the older equvilant) and I had two in a box in my '81 Elcamino being pushed by a Alpine MRV 1000 and they kicked a$$!! They held up fine. They weren't as good as Thunder 5000s (what would now be the Thunder6000s) or Thunder 7000s (what would be Thunder 8000s) but for the money, I believe that they can't be beat. I got mine from The Good Guys, 2 for one at $75. Definatly grab them while you can. But use the right size box. If you don't know, look at the spec sheet that comes with them, or if they're not new, go to the web site and find out.

I have 2 10" MTX 7000's in my backseat, the are 400 max RMS/1000 peak an im ony using a rockford 250a2 amp and it sounds excellent, eventually im going to switch to 2 12's in the rear hatch compartment and ill probably go w/ MTX's beacuse i think they defintily give great bass and they arent that expensive, id go for it.
