Imaging?
I was wondering what imaging is? I hear it being used a lot on this board. THX
BTW...I just put new Eclipse speakers in my car(stock sizes and locations), and a 240 watt Alpine V12 amp to power a 10" tube.

Current: 1991 RS 305 TBI
Past: 1990 RS 305 TBI (A woman forgot what red lights are for)
Current: mostly stock - newer 305 w/ 12,000 on it
Eclipse speakers all around w/ 10" tube in back
Future: 2" Cowl hood w/ K&N filter

Imaging, as defined by the IASCA rulebook (this is out of my head. The rulebook is home) is essentially how precise the placement of spacial objects is. A good image is one that is clearly focused at one point, and not one that is hard to localize or seems to drift.
A soundstage, is essentially the accurate placement of all of the images. If it's supposed to come from the center, that's where it should be. If it's supposed to be midway between center and left, that's where it should be. The width, depth, and accuracy of the soundstage is all taken into account when being judged.

Ok, here's the official IASCA defination from the 97-98 rule book...
- Imaging: Ability to reproduce the sounds of instruments and voices in their correct locations and proportions on the sound stage
- Sound Stage:The perceived space from which the sound originates
