Need Some Advice

I have some Polk Dx9 6x9s comming in the mail, and i plan on getting a sub. So is much bass really need in the front of the car. Would 4 inch speakers in the bose system location sound good, with tweeters on the dash or door? Or my other option is to build a door panel speaker box with a 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 inch speaker if its really necessary. Opinions?

it depends on how much base you want really. will you be running an amp with your sub or other speakers? how about your deck? are you using a sealed enclosure with your sub? all these things play a role in a good system. but it's really a personal preferance though on how much base is desired. installing better speakers in the stock locations is definantly a noticable improvement though.

Bass is omnidirectional....in other words it doesnt matter where the subs are located at it will sound the same within a given space. The Bose accoustimass system is a good example. With that said you can put your subs anywhere in the car. Besides, it would be difficult if not impossible to put good bass speakers in front.
