I take it you mean press the gas?
You didn't say what your stereo system has... could be that you need a noise filter (which I've never had work) or that there's some ground problem somewhere...
Or maybe your spark plug wires are worn out!

Your first thing should be to re-ground your amp(s) to a common point and do it properly, as described in other various posts. 99% of the time that will help. If that doesn't help, then you either have a fairly serious problem, or extremely cheap equipment, both of which obviously need to be dealt with differently.

Another area that causes trouble is the RCA,s. If they aren't shielded or if they are too close to your power wires or sometimes even things like computers, digital clocks, etc.,that will introduce noise into the sytem also. But,as said before,I would check your ground(s) first and then,if that doesn't help,re-route your signal and power cables.

I have the same problem sometimes. I did the install myself (quit laughing)
anyway, when the ground and positive cable get wound up, or they sit too close side by side, then i have the same problem.
I would say before buying anything, to make sure your positive and negative cables are tight in their sets, and to make sure the wires dont cross over eachother at any point.
cured my problem
