kenwood cd changer
I have an older kenwood head unit that is a cassette w/cd changer capabilities. What I'm wondering is can I get any year changer hook up? If I have to dig it out for specs, I will. Let me know.

Generally, a deck will work with a changer as long as its within a few years of the manufac date of the deck.

I don't think Kenwood has changed their CD changer control technology any time recently, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about. (Pioneer, for example, changed everything about five years ago.)
Remember that the cable is included with the new CD changer. If you buy a used changer, make sure you get the cable too, as they're expensive to buy separately.
I also remembered something else. On the new Kenwood changers, with CD Text capability, there's a little switch right below the Eject button on the changer. Depending on whether or not your radio supports CD Text, you'll have to move the switch on way or the other. The changer won't work if the switch is in the wrong position.

Thanks all. My head unit is like 10-15 years old. So no text, or anything else special for that matter.
