Ok so a while back I modified my factory CD player with an aux mp3 jack. I could never find the preamp inputs so I spliced into the CD tray. Worked great for a few years until the spindle motor burned out on the drive. Now I can't listen to mp3's. I took it all apart thinking piece of cake I'll buy a new motor for $10 and solder it in. Come to find out the spindle tray is completely different and the motor is also completely different (opened up a 2002 CD player to compare).

I looked online and people want $200/minimum for these things ( i get it they're rare) and one guy on eBay wants almost $400 for a refurbished one that claims he has updated the drive tray and internals. I can't bring myself to pay $200-400 for a stock radio no matter how rare it is. Does any one know where I can find a replacement spindle motor (Google foo and eBay have turned up no results) or how to modify /upgrade the guts so i can go back to having the stock look with my mp3 functionality? The only writing on the motor is "32 5 21" which turns up no useful results.
