Okay so I'm at ends here, I was putting a Sony CDx GT360MP in my car, it worked when I plugged it in for the first time(as in it lit up and I was able to play radio music from it) at that time I hadn't actually put it into the metal sleeve into plastic retainer to hold it in place. Once I knew it was working I disconnected the battery from my car and I unplugged the unit and put the aluminum sleeve on it and got it all ready to be screwed into my car. So I test it out again just to make sure it works, I reconnect the battery and turn the key and the radio does nothing, no buzz, no lights, nothing. So I unplugged it and made sure I had power going to the plug and I definitely do, along with a good ground. And it still refuses to work. There's a fuse under where you plug in the cable to the unit, but the fuse is fine.
I've checked the voltage to the plug multiple times, I definitely have voltage running to the unit

Anyone know what the hell is going on? I feel like the radio unit itself is just broken now for some reason. No clue why.

 

Just to clarify, when you say you have power to the plug, do you have it to both the red and the yellow wires of the radio? If one has power but the other doesn't, the radio doesn't work.

 

Yes, I have power to both red and yellow wires in the plug, and I tested the ground, it's all working as it should.
