4" or 4x6. which would sound better?
I was just on the MB Quart website the other day and I noticed that they make 4x6s now. I though cool, I should get some. It said that there depth was 2.3", so I checked in my Crutchfield catalog and saw that the depth for our cars is only 1.75" So then I thought that I could go with there 4 inchers which are only 1.7" deep. And use one of there adapters to go from 4x6 to 4. Would this sound good, or would it be better to try to fit the 4x6s. they both have about the same specs. check out www.mbquart.com and click autobahn coaxs. then scroll down.

i was trying to put a set of 2" deep Boston Acoustics 4x6's in yesterday and it was way too much...it was hitting the air duct on the drivers side, no way i was getting it in w/o cutting a duct. so i exchanged them for eclipse 4x6's and they sound kick *** !!!

the boston's didn't fit? I've got Boston 746 plates, which have a bigger magnet than their 4x6", plus it's offset! They dropped right in with zero modifications. In my firebird, I needed to trim some plastic and heat the duct and move it back.
