Trouble with factory radios and steering wheel controls

I believe my car had the Delco UT4 Radio originally but has long since been lost over 27 years and who knows how many different radios. Right now I have a later model Pontiac Delco radio but to me, I'd like to have the car in original shape. However, UT4 radios and very expensive and somewhat rare (can't find any for less than $200-$300 ) my question is, which Delco radios will work with my steering wheel controls? The later model Pontiac radio doesn't work with them and I have no idea which ones are compatible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Trouble with factory radios and steering wheel controls

Justin, thru the years I've not found any compatible stereos that work with the remote audio controls. The 89 GTAs that got the CD player used the standard T/A leather wheel. I don't know if an aftermarket interface would work with an OEM radio but it might be worth a look.

You can get a programmable control box from pac audio that will let you use any aftermarket radio that supports steering wheel controls, but I'm not aware of any other GM radio that will work.
