Polk EX II's for free!!!

I just picked myself up some polk EX II's for free last night. My freind bought all new speakers for his car with christmas money and circuit city happened to give him to extra boxes of polk's. He installed his 4x6's and had an extra box that he gave to me. This was incredible considering just yesterday i went and bought my 6x9's and had a new deck for christmas, but couldnt afford the 4x6's just yet

Quick question for ya guys though...if my speakers are rated at a higher wattage then my deck, do i have to worry at all about blowing my speakers? Or since the deck cant put out as much as the speakers can handle should i be fine? I know its a stupid question, but im just not sure if i should be worried about playing my music loud, or bumping up the bass (not extremely high bass, just enough)

I can blow an 800 watt speaker with a clock radio. You just need to be smart and when it starts to sound fugly, turn it down. Overdriving an under-powered amp will kill a speaker much faster than overpowering it with clean sound.

Well it sounds great. Im amazed at how clean it sounds when playing it loud. I have a Sony Xplod deck, polk exII dash 4x6's and sony xplod 6x9's. Ive read a bunch of bad stuff on this board about the sony products....but im extremely pleased with the sound quality of it. Not sure about the durability considering ive only had it a week, but the quality is great, and i can blast it pretty damn loud and it stays perfectly clean. A little vibration on the right side, because one screw wasnt put in, but that will be fixed tonight.

But basically youre saying as long as it sounds clean i should be fine right? Like i said its extremely clear when loud, so im assuming im ok.
