80s Delco only playing out of one speaker

Hey guys, my car's PO left me with a junky aftermarket CD radio that would never work right unless you shifted it around in the console, and when it did it would rarely play on all 4 speakers. I was very excited to find a factory Delco radio out of a 1990 Buick wagon in the junkyard today, I grabbed the harness with it and it wired right up to my Camaro! The radio sounds great but the cassette needs work (won't play tapes, just engages the auto-reverse, new belts?), but I have a bigger issue- the radio is only playing out of the front driver's speaker. I swear I was able to get all 4 working for a bit, but not sure why it stopped. On the bright side that one speaker doesn't cut out like it did with the old radio :P

Has anyone ran into something like this before? What's some things I should check? In the morning I'm going to look at connections (which i made sure were snug when I installed the radio!), speaker connections, and contacts in the fade selector in the radio.

Probably bad solder joints internally. The fix back in the day was to throw it in the salvage pile and try another one.

It's most likely the caps as detailed in that post. I fixed the radio in my TA by replacing them.

Thanks and that guide is amazing! I do have some static in the right front and everything in rear is dead. I'll look into replacing the caps, thanks

Holy cow...A-body.net. I used to be on that forum daily. Didn't know it was still around.

No problem. Just make sure you take pictures before you desolder anything. The polarity is important on caps and I nearly messed that up.
