JL subs
hey guys, i have seen a lot of people talk about the JL W0 subs, and i have found 2 10's for bout 160. these seem like really good subs from what i have heard and now i am tryin to decide on the amp, i found a profile 1200sx it puts out 300x2 rms and 600 max, now the sub is 4 ohm and i think this amp will put out 300x2 at 4 ohm, am i right about the amp? and does anybody have input about what amp will put out the same power for about the same price(250). i dont want to spend a whole lot more than this b/c if i plan to spend much more i think i am gonna have to sell my body, j/k(but wait that's and idea, naaaaaa) anyway thanks for the input.

well, lets not all post at once, come on i know some of u guys have these subs and have some input on this. i really need some help cause i have heard some contraversial things about these subs, all i have ever heard on here is good but on some other boards and from some people, mainly dealers tryin to get me to spend more prob. some not so good things. plz help in my decision.
JL W0's are good entry level subs. Profile amps, eh, ok, but for a budget, I'd consider something from Crossfire. If both subs are 4 ohm, then you are left with a 2 ohm total load. Too low for most lower priced amps. If you are only doing 1 4ohm sub, then you're fine.

JL subs are great, I had 1 12W0 in my car powered with only 100watts and people thought I had 2 12s or 3 10's. But $160 sounds a little pricy for 2 10's. Look on ebay and grab a pair for around 100-150. I saw 2 12 W0's on there in a box for 125 once, if i would have had the money (in college) i would have baught that in a heart beat. JL's are great in my experience

i was wondrin about the price, but cant seem to find to many places who sell JL subs, i cant understand this from what i hear from all of u. and 160 was the best i have seen so far. i am a little hesitant about buyin off of ebay for the fact that i dont exactly know a whole lot about at and think that if i get jipped that i will be out of money. if u have any other places that i could look i would love the help.
I think that sounds like a good price 2 for 10's. also profile amps can't run at 2 ohms, trust me I have one :-) I'd also maybe think about a differnt amp too.......... I've heard that if I would have gotten a diffent amp it would work better.

I just got rid of my JL 12W0 and the crossfire 202 amp I had running it. It sounded pretty good, but I found a deal I just couldn't pass up. A stereo shop had their Kicker Comps on sale--buy one get one free, so I got two 12's for $130 and Crutchfield had their RF punch 250 amps on sale for $220, and I got mine as a scratch and dent for $186, and the only problem was the box was messed up. I'd say go for the JL's if that's what you want, but if you said you can spend $250 for an amp, I'd either give Crutchfield a call or check them out on the web to see if they still have the sale.
