Polyfill = Eureka!!!!!!!!!

I mentioned that I dunamatted the entire car, mostly so far, but still had signifigant vibrations ,not ralltles, from the body of the car. I got a bass cd and found out that with only the subs, there was near no vibration. After investigation, I found 98% of teh noise was from the resonance of the 6x9's. I prompty went to K-mart and got two 100% poly pillows, $4, and stuffed the stuffing from each behind the 6x9's. Thhis made a HUGE difference. There was no change from within the car, but outside, I now have no noise from the car. None at all, I love it. With te windows down, you can hear the car cranked at over 75ft. With them up at the same volume, your ard pressed at 15 and can barely hear the subs. Just thought I let you all know in case your stuck in a similar situation.

Hey bro, very good find. Thanx a lot. Most of my vibrations come from my hatch area in the deck lid, the spoiler & my doors (mainly the glass in the doors). Gotta try it soon.

Just an thought but if you stuffed a lot of fill behind the 6x9 you might run into problems in the long run. One problem is that the fill actually acts like a light finger on the back of the speaker which alows the speaker to take more power without distorting. Problem comes to low volume levels when the speaker magnet won't be used to the unusualy contact of the fill and speaker so it won't move. That will eventually become hot and that is why some speakers are rated from 8-__ watts. It's because if you only put 6 watts into them they wouldn't move much and would just creat heat = dead speakers in time. Just a thought to watch out, try putting less fill in or somehow make sure that the fill isn't touching the speaker (magnet doesn't matter).
