Stereo lkills my hatch

I have an 88 Camaro with 305 TBI

Panasoinc head unit with 4 x 6 rockfords in the dash and 6 x 9 in the appropriate place. My problem comes in with 3 10" DVC Crossfire subs in the truck ( so called ) With a Phoenix gold ZX350 runnning them. My factory hatch will not hold the hatch down. And I have never heard fo a hatch upgrade.

what do you mean it won't hold it down? It's a steel latch. If it's not staying down, you need to adjust or replace the latch.

Well jim not very often someone gets to tell you this but your wrong the body that holds the motor down it made of plastic which can break from a hard slam on the trunk. i would check this i had the same problem and the plastic body was broken at the three hold down tabs which can allow about 2-4 inches of travel when the trunk is down.

There are plastic tracks that the system sits in on the motorized units. On my 86 camaro they are all totally broken and half demolished. The hatch still stays closed. And like I said the first time, if it's broken, it needs to be replaced.
