Delco Radio Problems
Delco Radio Problems
I'm currently trying to put the original Stero in my 1984 Trans Am, the radio turns on but there is only static on every station. Also I just I installed a new antenna so I don't think it's that

Re: Delco Radio Problems
Looks like you've got an aftermarket antenna ?? Possibly an adapter ?? Double check the Antenna & Antenna connection is good,..... if it's OK then it's probably time to replace the radio.
The radio you've got pictured is a 84-87 (or so) Buick head-unit with 85+ Firebird ***** on it. The extra wire is not needed to install this radio..... It should work just fine without the extra wire connected to anything. IMO: The ( most likely ) reason that the radio isn't puling in any AM/FM stations is because something on the AM/FM circuit board(s) is fried. Could be (probably) the board that the Antenna plugs into,.. but could be the board the the station pre-sets are mounted on too.
I've got a few good Delco head-units,..... If you can't find a replacement locally feel free to send me a PM to check what's available. If you decide to find a specific type of radio - just be sure to include a picture of the radio you want. ** I do not have a factory stock 82-84 Firebird radio at this time.
