I really need help!!!

I recently bought a firebird and obviously the previous owner had stereo extras (don't know exactly what) put in. I found a wire with a black and a red plug on both ends. Can anyone tell me what this might have belonged to and (more importantly) where the power might have come from?? Is it via the stereo or is it direct??

Can you say where the wire is coming from, i.e. the battery, console area, trunk, etc...

The wire was running from behind the radio-alongside the driver's side to behind the back seat.

This is the wire with the plugs at the end. There are TONS of cut wires elsewhere and wrong size fuses in the fuse box. My purpose in asking is that there are two wires that had melted (well one into the other) from my fan relay, the previous owner hotwired the fan into the fuse box (where THAT wire melted!) and now the car overheats (no fan-no air dam) AND now, the power (elecrical) is GONE!!
