they look good to me, its hard to see em but it looks like they are the same size as my 2 boxes and mine sound Great!! mine cost me $100 but there not custom fit, just boxes i set in the back. so if you think $50 extra for a custom fit is worth it then go for it. if i didnt promise myself i wouldnt buy any more sound system things i would get em for myself.

Much. You're usually paying for a person's labor and their talents when you buy a box. MDF and the other materials are pretty cheap.

My boxes use a lot more materials than the average thirdgen box, and my cost is somewhere between $50-$75 for the stuff (I never added it up) and I charge $250 for a box. But, when you subtract the wear and tear to the tools, the electricity, and then take what's left and divide it by the number of hours it takes to build, you find out that I could mop floors for more money. If those boxes are mass produced, their labor charges are reduced substantially, which is why they can sell them cheaper than a custom built box would cost. As long as those boxes are built properly, they should sound good. The advantage you get by paying a shop to build you a box is that you can have it made specifically for your subs, and in some cases, it looks much more professional.
