Monsoon Amp Problems-Help!

I just got my car back from the body shop-it had heavy rear damage-and now my radio sounds horrible! They tried to fix it, but could not find the amp. I heard that it is in the rear quarter-panel by the spare tire. Is this true? Does anyone know if it is worth fixing? It is a 97 with the Monsoon CD system. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

The amp lives in that area, just in front of the spare.

Worth fixing ? I would think insurance would cover it.
