Two Amplifiers...

Sup guys, hey, is it easy to have two amplifiers active at the same time? I have to sets of 800 watt subs, I want one amplifier going to each set. I'm planning on making a sweet amplifier box and putting some neons and plexy glass on it. And hey, It wouldn't have to be perfectly enclosed like sub boxes, so, it should be easy for me to make right? Anyone have any pictures of two amplifiers hooked up at the same time?

What are the thick cables for?

So, why such thick cables when havign two amplifiers hooked up? My friend says cables that thick can cost up to $139.00 in places. That true? Descirbe how you have yours hooked up...

Bigger Cable = More Power/More Consistent Power

I used 4 guage from the battery into a 50 amp fuse (under the hood). Then it ran into the first cap....and chained to the second cap....then to my distribution block. From the distribution block an 8 guage power wire went to each amp.

Ground was also a 4 guage wire that ran from the chassis to the caps...to my distro block...then 8 guage to the amp.

Smaller cables can produce less than a 12 volt load once it reaches the amp. The bigger cables give the juice PLENTY of free roaming copper to fly along ;-)

It's for safety reasons. Smaller wire will get hot running high amperage through it.
Best place to get 4 guage and larger wire is from a welding supply shop, much cheaper than the Stereo stores.
I've got 2 guage stranded welding wire for my battery in the trunk to my starter wire in the front of the car. The cable is really heavy and is flexible which made it easier to route through the car. Here is a pic of the battery just sitting in the spare tire well,
