Running out of room

I thought I'd share this with those of you who could appreciate it. I got an orion xtreme 800.4 and have a 900 on the way for my subs. I also bought a audiobahn 350 30 band eq. We are building all the racks for the trunk and the box and I don't know where the hell to put everything. The two amps take up all the left over room. Might end up putting the eq in the seat back but for the cap and distribution stuff I'm almost at a lost. A month ago I was complaining about not having enough stuff now I can hardly figure out what to do with all of it. Kinda funny to me. Now I just need to find some kick a## subs to put in the box. Probably going to do 3 JL 10w6's. Any thoughts? thanks for reading my rambling.

If you've got as much money as I think you do then I'd go with Eclipse (88100's), Memphis (SHP's), or JL (W6) in that order. There are plenty more subs out there that will beat these or sound better so make sure you make a trip to a sound room where you can test these before you buy.

As far as placement goes... some people here have done some very creative stuff with their equiptement. I would suggest going to the spare tire comp. or storage compartment with the cap and distribution block. Those Audiobahn Eq's are huge, but I'd imagine it could fit above the gas tank (don't drill into it though!) if you don't mind loosing t-top sorage, if you have 'em that is. Amps could go in the back seat as a few people on here have done or under the sub box if it doesen't extend all the way to the bottom of the well.

I like the Orion amps too...

Well I aint broke but I'm sure not rich. I priced some Eclipse subs (the alluminum ones) and wow. I do believe you get what you pay for and I'm sure they are great but I think something with a lower price tag could still make me smile.

Im in the process of savin up for some eclipse subs. Check out the 8700 series subs by eclipse. Get the 12' DVC subs, they sound great at a reasonable price. They're 250 a piece, which isnt that bad considering theyre the best manufacturer on the market. They stand behind their product, and i've never had a problem w/them

What about Infinity perfect subs? I'm in the process of choosing subs right now, and the 10" take the least amount of space of most subs I've seen. Two of these take less than 1 cu. ft. They can be had all the time on e-bay for less than 160.00 each. I also considered the 3 JL's, but for the space they require, I might go with the Infinity's. Also, have you checked out some of the box building programs like winISD beta? these can help you find out how much space the subs you're interested in will take.
Good luck, hope this helps,
Jeff

I don't like Eclipse subs at all.....

My buddy had his BMW M3 done at a top-level audio shop in NYC and they nailed him for over $30,000 for this install!

Don't get me wrong...the install is sick with 3 LCD's, a DVD Player, Playstation mounted in the rear seats, total custom fiberglass truck install, Kicker Amps, Eclipse head unit, Eclipse DSP Unit ( I think? ), CD Changer, 3 caps etc etc etc

The system sounds just OK in my opinion. His subs sound like crap compared to the rest of the system. I don't know what model he has...but they are fairly high end Eclipse (if they even make more than one model). The bass just sounds sloppy.

I'm running 2 12" Rockfoard Fosgate Punch XLC's in my truck and they sound a LOT tighter than his 3 12" Eclipse subs. He's pushing twice as much power as I am as well.

Just my opinion....I think Eclipse makes GREAT head units, just wouldn't buy their speakers. They are better companies out there that stick to speakers.....
