what subwoofer config would be best?

1 15" DVC sub, or 2 12" DVC subs, or 4 10" SVC subs. For subs lower then 15" id use Infinity Perfects. For 15" Probally a Rockford DVC sub.

yes but.....if you run about 250w to each one. you'll be able to hear ya from 3 blocks away. or I assume you would be able to. I have one 12" reference(not as good as the perfects) and you can just barely hear me from a block. and I'm running like 200w to it. so if you had 4 with a total of 900w or so. all I have to say is DAMN!!!! that would hit plenty hard and still give you sound quality. sure not quite as hard at 4 rockfords of something, but the quality will be lots better! but trust me if you go with 4 it'll hit plenty hard for ya :-)

I agree that more cone room is good, but what kind of music do you listen too. The 15 would give a lot deeper bass hit for say some types of rap music, but if you like just fast hitting booms the tens are the way to go. If you want in the middle of the road go with the 2 12's. Also you must keep in mind that 4 10's is going to need alot of power, less than a 15 or 2 12's. I don't know if money is the issue, or what but there would be a signifigant difference in pricing I would think.
