kicker expert : POLECAT (help)

you know you like that title, eh?

anyway i am very interested in the new L7's. But not for my camaro. I'll be purchasing a Dodge Ram and i was wondering if you guys have truck boxes for the 12" L7's.

I was thinking about only putting one 10" in, but why not get a 12" ya know?

also, the price i got for one 10" L7 in a truck box was $350. Is that a good price?

how much would a 12" be in a truck box? $500?

just lookin for more info if you have some!

Kev, we sell them in sealed enclosures, which are pretty small. Actually the minimum. I would recommend buying the raw woofer, and measuring the space you have, and calling Aaron or jerimy at support@kicker.com and they will help you design a ported enclosure for the space you have. I would recommend doing sealed unless you are totally after SQ, and most that buy the L7 aren't.
That way you an utilize all the space you can, and enjoy them ported.

Hope this answers your questions. If not, post away and I'll help all I can.

Polecat,

i dont think i was clear enough, haha. At a local Store (Beacon), in the Car Audio section they have the 10" and 8" L7s in truck boxes that are matched up for the best Sound Quality. I did however see the rather small enclosures your talking about, But i know for fact they wont fit. The truck box was just a normal sealed box (no tweeters) and the price for a 10" in the truck box was $350.

is this a good price?

also, i went to another Local Car Audio shop and found that i can get one 10" JL 10w3 (i believe) in a truck box for $200. Could you stop trying to promote Kicker for just oneeeee second and tell me if the two of these JL's for $400 will sound better then one 10" L7?

i thought if im gonna spend $350 on one ten, why not spend $50 more and get two, ya know?

well i greatly appreciate you taking time out to answer these demanding questions

thanks

With my money, do the 2 JL's. You are getting 2 woofers instead of one, plus the L7 needs a large ported box to actually come alive. Not to mention the power.

I personally dis-agree with even selling these in these type of enclosures, but hey, that's me. We should sell these in the medium ported enclosres they sound better in.

But for the money, I'd get the JL's too.

But do some checking as far as pricing. $350 is alot for one, and I know you can find woofers cheaper than that on the web.

Have you thought about the older style solo's in sealed boxes. Then hands down, I would find a pair of them. Some dealers may still have them. If not, they can get some still direct from us.

Here is a link to the Zeb. Raw woofers for a little over $200 each. http://thezeb.com/zebaudio/pricelists/kicker.html

Good luck with whatever, and if you need anything, please don't hesitate.
