speaker wire +/- question

speaker wire +/- question

Hey guys I have a question for you.When I bought my car the rear 6x9's were missing and the speaker wires were cut off.I put new ones in but want to make sure they're hooked up right.Driver side is yellow/brown and passenger side is light blue/dark blue.What colors are positive and wich are negative.Thanks for any help.....

just hook them up, if it sounds like buttcrust then you have them backwards...

Actually, back in the day, before we knew any better, some friends and I hook up a set of 6x9's in my friend's Caprice, and we hooked them up backwards, and it didn't sound too bad. Granted there was a noticable difference when we hooked them up correctly, if you don't have very much power going to them, it is hard to tell the difference sometimes.
