When I bought the car, it had an aftermarket Sony radio. The seller gave me the original, but it obviously won't receive the new hd broadcast stations. I tried an Alpine CD player. The new ones just don't appeal to me like the 90's alpine radios did. So, I went with the Retrosound. It looks close to factory, and it has preamp sub outputs. The menus to control output are a little tedious to access, so I installed a PAC sub level control. The Retrosound radio also comes with a USB/audio jack. It almost fit next to the ashtray and under the ashtray cover. Close but no cigarette... so to speak.
Nice. How do you like it? I'm getting ready to install a previous generation of the Newport (which does not enjoy as good of a reputation as the newer one you have).
Thanks. It looks clean, and it sounds good.. Since I have the ‘84 anniversary model, I’m trying to keep it looking close to stock. I can turn up the bass for Def Leppard and relive my teenage years. Then I can quickly switch back to a normal sound profile and listen to talk radio.
