1989 GTA Steering Wheel Controls Yellow .65 v
Hi,
1989 GTA w/steering wheel audio controls. Controls do not work, LOC on radio.
Orange wire on pad has 12V
Yellow wire has .68 volts, it does fluctuate a bit when buttons are pressed.
Any ideas?
Thanks!!!

OK, might be making progress.... Should I have continuity from the orange wire on the pad, all the way to the orange wire on the 5-pin 2 wire connector that plugs into the back of the radio?

Here's an 88 SWC Radio wiring Schematic,... Maybe it will help.
What I see in this schematic is that the Yellow wire is the "switched ignition" signal from the fuse-box. That circuit should carry battery voltage whenever the Key is in Accessory or RUN.
The ORANGE wire is the "data" circuit. You should have continuity,.. if you don't then check the plug connection at the bottom of the steering column. (AKA: C210 on the schematic)
Most GTA SWC radio problems trace back to the PINS on the Turn Signal switch inside the steering column.
