89 Formula factory radio wire diagram
89 Formula factory radio wire diagram
Hello guys. Im trying to help my son install a factory radio into his 89 Formula. I bought a wiring plug harness to go into the back of the radio, since the previous owner cut that off to install the CD player.
The factory wires are different colors than the plug I bought. The new plug has a diagram to show what their colors mean. So, if I figure out the colors for let's say, the front left speaker, then I can cross reference it with the new plug.
Does anyone have an 89 Formula radio diagram or color code? I have found them for 86 and 88. Are they the same as the it's?
Thanks for any help.

Here's a link to the installdr's webpage with the GM diagram that cross-references GM's colors to industry standard colors. The image is a pdf file, so after I saved it, it would only upload as an attachment, so I'm linking the page:

This is from an 88 Camaro,.. yours should be the same unless your Firebird has the optional "SUBWOOFER" sound system.

This is the 89-97 (or so ) Radio plug looks like:

Hope that helps !
